All students on the journalism courses at Winchester have the opportunity to specialise in sports journalism after completing basic training as a news reporter or production journalist.

We do not offer a separate qualification in sports journalism because, after consulting the industry, we believe sports journalism employers are looking for broadly educated journalists who have all the key skills such as shorthand a good knowledge of media law and the ability and track record of producing general news and feature stories.
