Dan Read scored the winner deep into stoppage time as Fleet Town came from behind to progress into the Semi-Final of the Hampshire Senior Cup North.

Winchester City made the surprise decision to start with Assistant Manager Matthew Hussey up front and it seemed to have an effect early on with the veteran showing good touches and having a decent attempt on goal.

It was the home side that applied the pressure mid-way through the first half and they had a golden opportunity to take the lead but saw their cross flash in front of goal without anyone getting a meaningful touch.

Into the second half and it was Fleet who made the barn-storming start with... rattling the bar from 25 yards and just two minutes later forcing a good save from Winchester 'keeper Stacey Harper.

It was the last action of the game for him though as for the second match running the Winchester 'keeper was taken off injured, this time with suspected ankle ligament damage. It was down to midfielder Zach Glasspool who could soon be dubbed 'Mr Versatile' to take up the reigns for the second match running.

With just 20 minutes remaining it was the visitors who had a glorious opportunity to take the lead but a scramble from a corner resulted in the ball somehow being cleared off the line.

And with just 5 minutes remaining it was the visitors who upset the odds and took the lead. Another corner was whipped in and again the Fleet defense struggled to deal with it resulting in the ball looping up and Nathan Lynch heading home to send the away fans into raptures.

The home side was looking for the perfect response and they got it just two minutes later. After the referee gave a somewhat controversial free kick, it was Winchester's defense that was shaky from the cross and it fell to Mark Anderson to nod home for the swiftest of replies.

And it was heartbreak for City five minutes into stoppage time as Glasspool and Town's Dan Read both contested a high ball with Read getting the defining touch as the ball trickled over the line for the winner.

Manager Stuart Hussey said that he was 'gutted' at the result but it is Fleet Town march on into the Semi-Final.

Winchester City managed a credible 1-1 home draw against Poole Town at the Denplan City ground. Zach Glasspool grabbed the opener for the home team in the opening ten minutes but then bizarrely spent the rest of the game in goal after Ryan Gosney suffered a potential broken league. Glasspool battled bravely out of position pulling off a few saves but could not prevent Stuart Gates pouncing on a rebound to grab the equaliser for Poole.

Eastleigh FC suffered a dissapointing 4-1 defeat away to Hampton & Richmond. The home side took the lead on 8 minutes when Dean Well's free kick deep into the area allowed Craig Dundas to fire a low drive past Matthews to give Hampton the lead. Controversy followed as soon after Hampton & Richmond was awarded a penalty. Hodges fell over the outstretched leg of Luke Wilkinson outside of the area, but the referee adjudged the foul to have been inside the area and awarded the penalty. Dave Tarpey converted the spot kick. Eastleigh grabbed a goal back just before half time through Butler, after his cross eluded a packed penalty area and nestled into the net. But that was the most Eastleigh could muster and Lake and Tarpey scored goals in the 2nd half to secure a convincing win.

AFC Totton thrashed Thatcham Town 5-1 to continue their climb towards the top of the league. Sherbourne opened the scoring for the home side in the 24th minute with a powerful low effort past Strudley. Soon after Sherbourne then provided the assist to James Taylor for the 2nd goal. Early in the 2nd half Sherbourne completed his brace, stabbing the ball home following up his first shot. Mike Gosney scored the Stags fourth on 57 minutes converting a Pettefer cross. Stefan Brown grabbed a consolation for the away side before James Taylor re-established the Stag's four goal cushion, heading home with 15 minutes remaining.
